The Solà Expert Guide
Prepare the best cured-meat platters
1
Always have Solà on hand
Choose from the wide variety of our products and delight your guests with appetisers: chorizo, salami, llonganissa de pagès, espetec... Or you can choose all of them!
2
Select a good knife and slice thinly
To slice thinly, make sure the knife is very sharp. Most importantly, never use a serrated knife or you’ll break up the cured meat. Also, you should always cut at an angle, diagonally.
3
Present the product on a wooden board
Separate the different types of cured meats on the wooden board. This way, the meats won’t slide around or touch each other, which is important for maintaining each one’s flavour and aroma.
What to accompany the best cured meats with
1
Bread
Choose a good loaf of bread, with a thick, toasted and very crunchy crust. The crumb must be soft. Decide if you’d like it toasted and/or tomato rubbed.
2
Cheese
Remember that the cheese you select to accompany the cured meats must be served at room temperature.
3
Red wine
Open a bottle of red wine. Don’t use one left over from a previous meal. Choose a good bottle, one that you’ve been saving for a special occasion.
How to be a great host
1
Indicate a specific time
It’s important to know what time your guests will arrive. Make sure you tell them a specific time so that everything is prepared and the meats are at room temperature ready to eat.
2
Keep in mind your guests’ preferences
Ask them what they prefer and if they have any allergies. If you don’t have time or don’t want to bother them with questions, choose a selection of our products to make sure you cover all preferences.
3
Be welcoming
When your guests arrive, open the door and show them where to leave their things. Don’t leave them standing at the door: If you still have things to do, first make sure they’re comfortable and offer them a seat, a drink...
